Bush's approval rating drops below 40%. Again.

For weeks, right-wing blogs have loudly proclaimed that Fearless Leader was benefitting from a bump in the polls, thereby indicating that all those baseless attacks by American hating progressives (who apparently comprise about 60% of all Americans) were losing their sting. All we've really learned is that sometimes not even $1.6 billion in PR spending can convince the public that a dessicated turd is actually a gold nugget.

The respondents' concerns were echoed in President Bush's overall approval rating, which dropped to 39 percent, down from 42 percent in a poll taken February 6-9.

Fifty-six percent of respondents said they disapproved of the way the president is handling his job.

Not quite as bad as Nixon's approval rating in the months leading up to his resignation, but Dubya's definitely on his way to being the historical noteriety he so desperately craves. Unfortunately, it's going to mean a dotage spent whining, "If only Americans weren't too stupid to laud me as a demigod."
