Trent Lott 'pleased' by response to Katrina

CNN's Anderson Cooper caused an uproar on the progressive blogs waves this week after pointing out to Louisiana Senator Mary Landrieu that her use of airtime to praise fellow law-makers failed to acknowledge the fact that he was seeing rats eat the corpses of the dead.

As he interviews uber-Republican Trent Lott, Cooper is reminded that "this is not a time for complaining." If we aren't permitted to criticize the government for sitting idly by as Americans die in the streets, when can we?
