The Seeming and the Meaning

Posted on major right-wing blog 'Little Green Footballs' last night at 7:45 p.m., this was cited by the author as a sign of hope from "The Moonbat Heart" ('moonbat' is a popular diminutive for progressives among right-wing bloggers) :

Bush’s handling of Katrina disaster : Approve: 54 Disapprove: 12

If you, the right-wing blog reader, followed the hyperlink, you'd see that it was the result of a CBS News poll from August 29-31.

If you actually read Daily Kos, you would have seen these poll results from Survey USA, posted today at 11 a.m.:

Thinking just about the President of the United States ... Do you approve or disapprove of President Bush's response to Hurricane Katrina?

9/2 9/1 8/31
Approve
40 46 48
Disapprove 53 44 39

'Little Green Footballs' hasn't posted any updates on the poll numbers. The majority of the 481 comments (as of this writing) on the post appear to recommend that Daily Kos proprietor Markos Moulitsas Zuniga perform obscene acts on himself. A clear majority suggest that liberals want more to die for their political gain. Of the 100+ comments I looked at, none cite the more recent polls, or suggest that the federal response might have been more prompt and efficient.
