How to pack a court

The reactionary talking heads, in their quest to convince the public that folks like Antonin Scalia are middle-of-the-road guys, have taken to calling Clinton appointee Ruth Bader Ginsburg things like a "liberal," a "flaming liberal," and of course, a "liberal activist."

The thing is, Ginsburg was suggested to Clinton by none other than Utah Senator Orrin Hatch-- who isn't exactly known as a leftie. In fact, he isn't well liked by conservationists, women's rights groups, or civil rights groups . Just your run of the mill right-wing social Darwinist from black helicopter country.

And his recommendation for a Supreme Court justice was a flaming liberal activist? Riiiiight.
