Hooray for Robert Byrd!
His speech on the senate floor was brilliant. And I'm feeling a little smug that it came at the same time that I decided it was time to call the GOP the fascists that they are.
Naturally, the GOP is going nuts and accusing Byrd of calling them Nazis. He didn't do that, of course, but used a historical example to demonstrate the impact that rule changes in the Senate will have. He picked fascist Germany of the 1930s, and he was absolutely right to do so.
