Canada vs. The Phantom Menace

Canada's decision to scrub their role in missile defense seems like a case of common sense-- would you invest in an idea that's cost more than $100,000,000,000 and only resulted in failed experiments?

But the administration is letting it be known that NO ONE scorns their sci-fi fantasies and gets away with it. And if you try, they're going to pout like you wouldn't believe, bucko!

From our friends in Canada:

"The ripple effect created when Canada said 'no' to signing on to U.S. missile defence seems to have penetrated deeper south of the border than first believed.

CTV News has learned that U.S. Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice was so displeased by Canada's decision to opt out of the program that she's postponed a planned visit to Ottawa in mid-April."
