GOP votes to ditch small business disaster tax breaks

Just heard on the Randi Rhodes show.

Many businesses are being granted federal tax breaks so that they can rebuild their businesses in New Orleans. Unless those businesses aren't sanctioned by fundamentalist Christian churches. Some of those denied exemptions:

Tanning parlors
Liquor stores
Golf courses
Casinos
Country clubs
Hot tub dealerships

Most Republicans I know are pretty fond of these ventures, so it's fitting that we saw yet another capital gains tax cut today. (Note to Congress: we're still spending money on a two-front war. Three fronts if you count the homeland threats that are being ignored.)

One thing we've learned under the Bushies and fundamentalists is that wherever charity begins, it certainly isn't in the megachurches.
