"Freedom March" turnout mysteriously mysterious

The reports of attendees at the Pentagon's application-only show of support for the troops (and continued attempt to tie Iraq to 9/11) is ranging from "thousands," to 10,000, to 15 and 17,000, and I guess the high end is "droves." No one seems to know, but it hardly qualifies as a smashing success.

The folks at AmericaBlog took a few snapshots of the aftermath, and it doesn't exactly look like.... aftermath. More like they're setting up for a party.

There were, however, some reports of the patriotic marchers dousing protesters with water, shouting insults, and in one case a minor assault.
