Scott McClellan fourth to cite imaginary headline
No-one has been able to find a newspaper headline from last Tuesday that lulled the federal government into a false sense of security by proclaiming that New Orleans "dodged a bullet." That's because no American paper did say that. There was a Granada newspaper with a similar headline on Monday morning, but that was before the levees broke.
But it's still being repeated by members of the administration-- FEMA head Brown, DHS head Chertoff, and Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff general Myers. Now White House spokesmonkey Scott McClellan joins the illustrious group of phantom-newspaper readers.
Way to go, champ. This has been widespread news on the progressive blogs all week-- why hasn't anyone called the administration on this patently bogus claim?
