From the article:

AMSTERDAM — Dutch police, military police and the military will deploy 3,000 personnel to protect US President George W Bush during his brief visit to the Netherlands this coming weekend.

Some 1,600 police officers, 1,000 soldiers, 200 military police and 300 support staff will be positioned in the southern Dutch province of Limburg.

The visit to the Netherlands coincides with commemorative ceremonies for the 60th anniversary of the end of World War II. Bush is also travelling to Latvia, Russia and Georgia between 6 and 10 May.

The visit "will honour the shared sacrifice of millions of Americans and Europeans to defeat tyranny, and mark the growth of democracy throughout the continent," the US Embassy in the Hague said in a statement.

So, he gets to make us look even worse to our allies by tying the Iraq war to WWII, and all for the sake of a nice photo-op for his base at home. Believe me, many Europeans still have very strong emotions about that war, and they aren't going to like him grandstanding on his own little war.
