TNR continues attack on bloggers
The folks at the New Republic really, really hate bloggers. Which is puzzling, because you'd think the ostensibly liberal magazine would be pleased at the wave of awareness and activism that's been the result of blogging.
On the other hand, it makes perfect sense coming from an established magazine with a circulation that's lower than the number of daily visitors to a big-time blog like Daily Kos (which they especially hate). The one thing that becomes more clear with each attack on the blogs is that TNR's writers consider themselves to be the only qualified voices of progressive strategy. Which really does smack of 'liberal elitism.'
I recommend not only Moulitsas' post on the matter, but the original bit in TNR, which he links to. Just to see the strangeness of their argument.
