Al Franken, Bill O'Reilly, and a 'Mission Accomplished' moment

Crooks and Liars has an entertaining clip of Al Franken on Letterman last night. Included is a link to the site 'Sweet Jesus I Hate Bill O'Reilly,' whose founder Franken has had on his show a few times in the past.

That site has a photo posted that is set to be the cover of O'Reilly's latest book. And it's every bit as funny as Franken's appearance. See if you can decide what 'look' Falafelman and his publishers were going for. It has the look of a US general's biography with Bill's 'military casual' attire, giant flag and sensitive-yet-tough pose (love the fact that they put Mr. Forced Phone Sex's wedding band in the foreground). But as with so many right-wingers' attempts at dignity and/or humor that look more like self-parody, there's also something about the photo that just screams "gay Boy Scout troop leader." Or, as the author puts it (and I hadn't noticed before writing this), "overly attentive T-Ball coach." Which I admit is funnier.
