Survivor's only companionship is dog ordered to be left behind

I've long been a critic of Oprah Winfrey's brand of toothless empowerment, pseudo-activism, and psychobabble. But this piece of video goes a long way toward restoring my faith in the small-yet-tangible results of celebrity activism. Not to mention the potential psychological devastation that can result from asking Americans who've lost nearly everything to abandon the only thing they still have.
