Military recruiters target Katrina survivors

No better time to make your case than when the displaced poor have nothing left to lose, right? According to this account, the Houston Astrodome is going to host a "job fair" sponsored by the US military. I'll be on the lookout for confirmation of this story. What we're seeing so far is that offers of food, water and shelter are still being declined, but the administration has managed to send military recruiters to talk to those who've just lost their homes, jobs and possessions. I hope it isn't true-- the last thing these people should be hearing right now is a hard sell on volunteering for Iraq.
