GOP rejects house ethics bill

The press must be too busy listening to Republicans claiming that the bankruptcy bill is all about "personal accountability" to report on the latest shameless hypocrisy from the robber barons. The link above will take you to a summary that features its own links.

The House resolution in question proposed a “bi-partisan task force with equal representation of the majority and minority parties to make recommendations to restore public confidence in the ethics process.” It was rejected along party lines.

It was only a decade ago that the GOP wrested control of the House (after 35 years or so of Democratic control, and they did it by flogging ethics issues. Now they stand to be remembered as the most corrupt legislature in American history. Hopefully it'll take them another thirty years and hundreds of millions more right-wing dollars to build up again after what could be a spectacular fall. Hey, a fella can dream.
