OK's Senator Coburn takes a break

This is pretty amusing. You might remember Coburn as the Oklahoma fruitcake who recommended the death sentence for doctors who perform abortions, sterilized a woman without, she says, her consent. Oh, and he said that "lesbianism was so rampant" in Oklahoma schools that girls could only visit the restroom one at a time. Maybe he could charitably be called a "loose cannon." But at least he's rolling up his sleeves now that he's on the Hill, right?



MyDD adds this gem on Coburn spent his day at the hearings:

"When I ponder our country... my heart aches for less diviseness, less polarization, less fingerpointing, less bitterness, less mindless partisanship, which at times sound almost hateful to the ears of Americans." And then he promptly left the hearings and went to a Club for Growth fundraiser.
