Downing Street Hearings

I've been remiss in not reporting on the awesome and indefatigable efforts of Representative John Conyers in attempting to address the concerns of liberal Americans regarding this administration's lack of reverence for the Constitution and Bill of Rights. Although I did post an 'Action Alert' to promote his petition to demand a response from the White House on the Downing Street documents, I've been mum since.

In spite of my silence, it's been a silent struggle of massive proportions as he attempted to hold hearings on th matter. He was hoping for 100,000 signatures, and he's garnered close to 600,000. The GOP tried to rig things so that he couldn't conduct the hearings at all, but he kept fighting-- and he won. Don't expect any coverage from the mainstream press, but expect me to post all of the fallout from the hearings. Conyers deserves a great amount of credit for doing this, and for fighting the good fight when it comes to the civil rights of all Americans.

I'm sure he's getting plenty of e-mails lauding him for his efforts, but one more never hurts. And letters to media outlets asking for coverage of his hearings certainly can't hurt.

Follow the link above for some initial coverage of the hearings. And stay tuned.
