But... maybe this is GOOD news. Maybe?

Nobody ever accused the Democrats of being highly organized. Except maybe Limbaugh, Hannity and their ilk. But this story from The Hill just leaves me puzzled. "Three top fundraisers" with the DNC are quitting-- ostensibly because Dean is neglecting the 'big donors.' Who these big donors are isn't revealed. Movie stars? Corporate interests? Philanthropists?

The interesting part is that these fundraisers are reportedly upset because Dean is focusing on small donors and grassroots support. Isn't that something the electorate is clamoring for-- getting corporate money out of politics?

As motivated as the liberals are these days, I think Dean'll manage to get a lot of support. And if he plays his cards right, a populist call to reject the Republicans for being the tools of special interests could be a good thing.

Of course, elections should be publically funded anyway, but that ain't gonna happen...

UPDATE: Another thing I've heard about this story. One of the criticisms of Dean is that he hasn't outraised the GOP. Of course, the Democrats never outraise Republicans. And apparently, Dean is already raising more than Terry MacAuliffe did during the same period (not exactly an apt comparison, but the article mentioned it, so I will, too).
