Prognosis unfavorable for DeLay in Texas
Kos has a succinct story with some uplifting links. DeLay took some hits in the media over the last two weeks, but not that many. The Abramoff reservation scam has received scant attention, and the man who's indicted some of DeLay's cronies for illegal political activities is still being portrayed by many as a "partisan Democrat," (as recently as last week in a WSJ editorial) even though he's indicted many more Dems than Republicans during his tenure. Naturally, the blogs and outlets like Air America are all over this (Morning Sedition's Marc Maron likes to call DeLay the "bug-killing dwarf king" of the GOP). And the mainstream media doesn't seem terribly interested.
I can't say what sort of coverage DeLay is getting in the Texas press-- so it's hard to know how much these stories are hurting him, and how much of it is just the Schiavo affair blowing up in his face. Whatever the case, it looks like Texans are having serious doubts about him.
