Fox boasts of the dangers of Iraq

I know Fox News is always trying to find ways to bolster the reputation of the least popular president in modern history, but this is retarded even for them. It's pretty standard for a pro-Bush Congressman. Actually, now that I think about it, it's typical for Fox, too.

Fox News Alert: Bush took dangerous chopper ride to Baghdad Green Zone

After saying a top U.S. goal is “to take the battle to where radical Islam would plan and strategize” for an attack, Peter Hoekstra (R-MI) said “today the President is going in their face” by traveling to Iraq. Scott added, “[C]learly a trip like this is not without risk,” since Bush “had to jump on a helicopter and fly at low altitudes. … The fact he was willing to undertake some of those risks says a lot about his confidence in the future.”

After countless months of whining about a liberal media that's falsely portraying Iraq as dangerous, righties are now eager to point out that Bush's six-minute helicopter ride meant running a real risk. In other words, setting foot in the country-- even in secret-- means laying your life on the line.
