Monday Funny: Gay Marriage Edition
Crooks and Liars has an extremely funny video up from the Daily Show about the adverse effects that gay marriage has had on Massachusetts (thanks to their "propaganda tactics that the Nazis used,").
The horrifying results? Massachusetts is currently (as the clip observes):
* 50th in illiteracy
* 48th in per capita poverty
* 49th in number of divorces
A bold prediction from your host: in about 25 years, people will look back on same-sex marriage being a hugely divisive issue in this decade and marvel at how preposterous it all was. It just isn't a big deal, and the next generation is growing up with a healthy realization of the fact that a commitment between two people of the same gender won't lead to rampant gay sex on jr. high playgrounds across the nation. Because most folks are, simply put, heterosexual. Sheesh.
Of course, I'm ignoring the argument that there's a pernicious gay conspiracy afoot to destroy democracy and replace it with a hedonistic anarchy. I'm a little worried about that one myself.
